(“Empower”), a wholly owned subsidiary, has begun shipping PowerPlay V handheld computer embedded with LinuxDA O/S to Finite Technology, Inc. (“Finite”) for integration into their wireless POS system (“EasyCredit™”). The sales will increase consumer and business awareness of Empower’s PowerPlay products and the LinuxDA Embedded Operating System possibilities.
Finite has successfully installed their EasyCredit™ wireless POS system with PowerPlay V PDA embedded with LinuxDA O/S as the control unit in taxis in Chicago. The system is already in use for every day, real time processing of card payment transactions by taxi drivers. EasyCredit™ has the fastest response time to process card approval in the Taxicab & Livery and Vending Machines industries. This will result in less waiting time and increased customer satisfaction. The EasyCredit™ system has very high security to protect wireless data transmission and uses the existing two-way radio frequency resulting in no additional airtime charges.
Finite will exhibit and demonstrate their EasyCredit™ wireless POS systems featuring PowerPlay V PDA embedded with LinuxDA O/S in booth #57 at the TLPA’s 85th ANNUAL CONVENTION & TRADE SHOW in Reno, Nevada – October 22 – 26, 2003 (www.tlpa.org).
