Empower Technologies Retains Coal Harbor Communications Inc. for Investor Relations

Richmond, British Columbia – April 8, 2005 - Empower Technologies Corporation (“Empower”) (TSXV: EPT) is pleased to announce, subject to regulatory approval, that it has retained the services of Coal Harbor Communications Inc. (“Coal Harbor”) to provide investor relations services for Empower.

The principal of Coal Harbor, Mr. Dale Paruk, has many years of experience in investor relations and is also a public relations professional. Coal Harbor will distribute news and information regarding Empower and provide consistent and timely contact with the Company’s shareholders, other investors and industry professionals.

Coal Harbor maintains its offices in Vancouver, British Columbia and works closely with financial analysts, advisors and investors in Canada and the United States.

Coal Harbor will receive a fee of $7,000 per month. The term of the contract is three months and may be extended by mutual agreement. Coal Harbor Communications Inc. and Dale Paruk are at arm’s-length to Empower. Coal Harbor is also to receive, subject to regulatory approval, stock options for 60,000 shares exercisable for six months, subject to certain vesting provisions.
