Richmond, British Columbia - September 7, 2005 - Empower Technologies Corporation ("Empower") is pleased to announce that Mr. Charles Walker has been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Walker has been president of The Walker Group of Companies since 1968. Mr. Walker was part of the management team that built Seaboard Life Insurance Company where he initiated the SAL Group, one of Canada 's leading providers of creditor group life and disability insurance, and related after-sale products for the automobile markets. Prior to this Mr. Walker held various management positions with Ford Credit as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the BC Lions Football Club for 9 years where he was the President of the football team from 1986 to 1989.
