Empower Technologies Now a Tier 1 Company on TSX Venture Exchange

Richmond, British Columbia - September 12, 2005 - Empower Technologies Corporation ("Empower") is pleased to announce that it has met the requirements for a TSX Venture Exchange Tier 1 company. Accordingly, effective September 12, 2005, Empower's Tier classification will change from Tier 2 to Tier 1.

The Company's operating subsidiary, Empower Technologies, Inc. has now successfully launched and has commenced sales of its LDK 5910 Development Kit, the first general purpose embedded computing platform based on Texas Instruments OMAP 5910 dual core processor that uses LEOs ("LinuxDA Embedded O/S"), Empower's own version of Linux-based embedded operating system, as described below. LEOs and LDK 5910 product details are available on Empower's LinuxDA product website (www.linuxda.com) and Texas Instruments' ("TI") OMAP processor product web page.

Empower's primary business strategies include development and marketing LEOs to a large proven and qualified electronics manufacturers/developers base through authorized service providers such as Wipro of India (www.wipro.com) and ODM Technologies of San Diego, the commercialization of products by consumer electronic manufacturers and the development and marketing of Empower's own branded PowerPlay consumer products, all utilizing LEOs. In proceeding with those strategies, Empower has terminated its agreements with Audio Products International Corporation of Ontario and its subsidiary, Spherex Inc., and will not be proceeding with its proposed acquisition of the assets of the software development company located in Vancouver, B.C.

"Our target market is very receptive to our latest LEOs operating software based on the TI OMAP5910. We have already shipped more units than we have originally anticipated since its launch in mid-August this year following our TI and Empower joint news announcement. Our sales and marketing team is pushing hard to add more authorized LEOs service providers to further expand the customer base and the Company is very hopeful that the LDK 5910 Development Kits being sold will eventually translate to licensing revenue generated from every new products embedded and shipped with LEOs on a per processor basis from many electronics manufacturers/developers around the world. This is great news for our shareholders, financial backers and the investment community that follow our corporate development. Our business model is now taking shape and is working to our expectation." Said Paul Leung, chairman, president and CEO of Empower.
