Empower Technologies™ Join Forces With Global Upholstery To Open Digital Furniture Market

Richmond, British Columbia – September 5, 2007 - Empower Technologies (“Empower”) (TSX.V: EPT) is pleased to announce the signing of a Letter of Agreement and a Letter of Intent with Global Upholstery, a subsidiary of Global Group.

Under the Letter of Agreement, Empower Technologies (Empower) licenses Global Upholstery (Global) to manufacture, market, and sell Empower's PowerPlay branded 5.1 Pro Media Chair through Global's own sales and distribution channels. Empower and Global have been working together since 2005. Global is the original equipment manufacturer of the chair used in Empower's PowerPlay 5.1 Pro Media Chair and Empower's award-winning “iMedia Chair” (winner of International Consumer Electronics Show Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree).

With the Letter of Intent, Empower and Global will work together to develop and to create new digital furniture that appeals to the professional, office, and healthcare markets. Empower and Global will sign a definitive agreement once the new product is developed. Under the definitive agreement being contemplated, Empower will be responsible for the software and hardware development and engineering, while Global will offer its expertise in the ergonomic, mechanical, design, and engineering of furniture. Global will also have the exclusive right to the marketing, distribution, and sales of the digital furniture created. Empower and Global engineering will work together to integrate Empower's embedded system into Global's furniture design. Once the new digital furniture jointly developed by Empower and Global is ready for market, Empower will supply the software and the electronic system under contract to Global to manufacture, market, and sell the digital furniture.

With the LOA and LOI in place, Empower expects digital furniture business will soon begin generating embedded system revenue. Through Global, Empower plans to become a dominant embedded system supplier in the digital furniture industry.
