Arrow Electronics Signed Distribution Agreement with Empower Technologies™

ARROW ELECTRONICS TO DISTRIBUTE EMPOWER TECHNOLOGIES' LINUX DEVELOPMENT KIT
FOR TEXAS INSTRUMENTS' OMAP™ DUAL-CORE PROCESSOR

Richmond, British Columbia – September 18, 2007 - Empower Technologies (“Empower”) (TSX.V: EPT) is pleased to announce that Arrow Electronics, Inc of Melville, New York has signed a distribution agreement with Empower to distribute Empower's LEOs® (Linux Embedded Operating System) development kit – the LDK591x, which is an embedded hardware/software development kit for Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP591x dual-core processors. Leveraging the performance and DSP/BIOS M Link provided by TI's OMAP TM dual core processors, the LDK591x runs Empower's LEOs® operating software out of the box and can be leveraged by developers as a powerful design reference for both hardware and software to significantly reduce device development time and cost. Subject to mutual approval, other current and future Empower LDK development kits based on different embedded CPU platforms can also be added to Arrow's distribution.

“We are very pleased and excited that Arrow will be distributing our LEOs® Development Kits world-wide” said Paul Leung , President and CEO of Empower. “With their breadth and depth of engineering, customer support and logistics management capabilities, we expect this relationship will be a win for our customers, Arrow, and Empower.” He added that Arrow has a long and well established relationship within the embedded computer OEM market. Leung also noted that by leveraging on Arrow's strong world-wide sales and marketing network, he expects Empower's visibility to increase substantially within the developer community among those who are involved in mobile/handheld embedded devices for the automotive, personal navigation device (PND), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and healthcare markets - which also is Empower's market focus.

“Arrow has observed a continuing trend, within our embedded customer base, where operating system selection is occurring prior to the hardware platform decision. Responding to the requirements of our customers, Arrow is pleased to be able to offer Linux-based solutions from Empower for our Texas Instruments OMAP TM processors,” said Robert Behn, Vice President of Embedded Computing and Memory Marketing, Arrow Electronics. “Empower is positioned as an industry leader in Linux-based embedded system technologies and solutions. We see this as an attractive combination of technologies for implementations in the telecommunications, automotive and transportation, industrial, medical and life sciences industries, where the flexibility of Linux and the scalable OMAP TM family can deliver complete solutions to our OEM customers.”
