Empower Technologies Company Update February 27, 2009 – Richmond, BC Canada – Empower Technologies Corporation (TSX.V: EPT) (“Empower”) is pleased to announce the updated report on the advancement of a number of sales initiatives made last year. On July 22, 2008, we announced Empower is supplying an embedded software and single board computer for the transportation entertainment systems. This month, the customer has informed us that for their first model, they have put together a final production prototype that is fully integrated with Empower's powerful Single Board Computer (SBC6446) for internal testing prior to submitting the unit for FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) certification in April this year. The customer is again showcasing their latest transportation entertainment system at another tradeshow in March in Europe. The customer expects they will start installing production units for the airlines in the fall this year. Further to the September 10, 2008 announcement for Empower to partner with Jogtek to enter the fast growing interactive marketing industry, Empower is pleased to announce the first model for their RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) based Interactive Marketing System (IMS02) is being prototyped. A demo version of the IMS02 was exhibited from February 24 to 26, 2009 at the 5 th Annual Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas. It was enthusiastically received by the retail industry. It is on schedule and both Empower and Jogtek plan on shipping the IMS02 to their customers in the first half of this year. On December 4, 2008, Empower announced Pixon Imaging has selected SBC6446 for their high performance imaging system. Empower has received a new Purchase Order (PO) from Pixon Imaging. The customer informed Empower more orders are expected and both companies are in discussion for long term secure supply of SBC6446 and other new models. It is with regret, Mr. Chuck Walker has resigned from the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Walker cited a restriction required by a new sales contract signed by his company as the reason for his resignation. Empower congratulates his company's sales success and wishes Mr. Walker a prosperous future with his business. Empower has selected another prestigious candidate who is currently awaiting clearance from his company before joining the board.
