Empower Technologies™ and Pixon Imaging Expand Strategic Partnership April 30, 2009 – Richmond, BC and San Diego, CA – Empower Technologies (TSX.V: EPT) (Empower) and Pixon Imaging are pleased to announce that they are expanding their strategic partnership to bring next-generation military and homeland-security imaging systems to market. Pixon Imaging previously announced that Empower was supplying hardware and software platforms for Pixon Imaging's proprietary imaging algorithms, including real-time dehazing, deblurring, and contrast enhancement. Pixon Imaging's customer base includes leading manufacturers and systems integrators in aerospace, military, and security-and-surveillance. “Because of Empower's digital-signal-processing prowess with both hardware and software, in addition to their ability to manufacture reliable OEM single-board computers, they have become an integral part of our overall business plan,” said Skip Powers, Pixon Imaging Vice President. “It became obvious that using Empower's engineering capabilities in a collaborative effort with our algorithms was a win-win for all concerned, giving us hardware that is optimized and tightly coupled with our imaging software.” He added that the new products will broaden their market both horizontally and vertically into such areas as commercial surveillance and unmanned aerial vehicles.
